UK Weekly Market Report - Week 16 - 17 April Settlement

All news

For Week 16 - 2024 (compared to week 16 - 2023), Travel Ledger's market data reveals a still positive but slower week for transactions and total value transacted, again with a decrease in the average value per transaction, due to the number of low deposit bookings still taking place.

- Transactions were up by +8%.
- Total amounts processed increased by +6%
- Average transaction value decreased by -3%;  the same decrease recorded last week.

We still record healthy figures overall for the season, including average transaction values (+16% YTD) which seem to indicate the low deposit strategy of many operators is driving the desired behaviour in consumers (book early - pay later), although the real test of this strategy will come in late May when balances for the summer bookings will start to become due.

Stay tuned for more updates from Travel Ledger, as we continue to provide valuable insights into the travel market's evolving landscape.
